Cresskill, NJ

Originally constructed in 1915, this historic English-style home in Montclair, New Jersey was once home to a descendant of the founder of Cornell University. The current owners wanted to honor their home’s impressive history, particularly the charming trellis work in the garden that integrates shamrocks and fleur-de-lis that nods to the original homeowners’ Irish and French heritage. By incorporating traditional lines, antiques and the work of artisans, we faithfully preserved this residence’s past while bringing it in line with contemporary expectations.
